Wayne State College had four players named to the 2009 Don Hansen Football Gazette Super Region #3 Football Team released today.  Junior wide receiver Frederick Bruno was named to the First Team as an all-purpose player while senior quarterback Silas Fluellen, senior wide receiver Logan Masters and senior linebacker Ryan Reeves were each named to the Second Team.  This marks the eighth year Football Gazette has selected Division II all-region teams.  The national publication, an authority on small college football, has selected Division II All-America Teams since 1998.  First and Second Team All-Region selections now advance to a national ballot from which the 2009 Division II Football Gazette All-America Team will be named.

Junior wide receiver Frederick Bruno of Wayne State College has been selected to the Associated Press Little All-American First Team as an all-purpose player.  The team is made up of players from NCAA Division II and III along with NAIA. It’s the second All-American honor for Bruno this month after being named to the AFCA Division II All-American Team as a wide receiver on December 7.  It’s also the second straight season that the Wildcats have produced an Associated Press Little All-American after defensive end Troy Pribnow received All-American honors last season.
