#25 WSC volleyball cruises past Winona State

The #25 Wayne State College volleyball team earned a three-game sweep over Winona State on Friday evening in Wayne. Scores of the match were 25-18, 25-7 and 25-17. Wayne State is 18-3 overall and 7-3 in the NSIC with the win. Winona State falls to 7-13 overall and 5-6 in the NSIC with the loss.
The 'Cats had a .287 team hitting percentage and held Winona State to a .045 team hitting percentage in the game. Jennifer Hefner and Brittany Van Beek each had 12 kills to lead the Wayne State hitting attack. Danielle Wessel added eight kills and eight digs for WSC. Meredy Dubbs led Wayne State defensively with 15 digs and Tessa Wietfeld had 11 digs. Sophomore setter Jenna Jansen handed out 34 assists on the evening. Carmen Stankowski had nine kills and Rudi Balich had 16 assists to lead Winona State.
Wayne State will host Upper Iowa in a 4:00 p.m. NSIC contest on Saturday at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.
