The Wayne State College men's cross country team has moved up one spot to seventh in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Cross Country Rankings released Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Wildcats are coming off a third place finish at last weekend's Northern Sun Conference Championships, trailing only Minnesota State and Augustana in the team standings.
Adams State of Colorado remains at the top of the regional rankings with Western State second. Minnesota State is third this week followed by Colorado School of Mines and Augustana (SD) in the top five. Metro State of Colorado is sixth with Wayne State up one spot to seventh. New Mexico Highlands also moved up one spot to eighth with St. Cloud State and Northern State entering the rankings this week at ninth and 10th. The top six men's teams from the region will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania on November 22.
The Wildcats are off this week and will prepare for the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships in Kearney, Nebraska on Saturday, November 8.
