WSC baseball ranked 14th in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA DII Preseason Coaches Poll

The Wayne State College baseball team is ranked 14th in the preseason Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll released today.  The Wildcats finished the 2009 season ranked 27th in the nation with a 45-15 record, advancing to the NCAA Division II Central Regional championship game before falling to Mesa State.  WSC captured a sixth straight Northern Sun Conference regular season title going 27-4 in league play to set a record for most wins by a NSIC team in league play.  The 45 wins also tied a WSC school record for wins in a season, matching the 2005 team that went 45-14. The Wildcats are scheduled to open the 2010 season in Golden, Colorado on February 13 and 14 against Nebraska-Kearney and Colorado School of Mines.
