NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships Final Results
The Wayne State College men's indoor track and field team finished in ninth place with 26 points at the 2010 Northern Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Mankato, Minnesota Friday and Saturday. The men's division was won by Minnesota State with 165 points and MSU Moorhead in second at 122 points. Augustana (102.5), Northern State (83) and Mary (59) closed out the top five. Concordia-St. Paul was sixth with 58 points followed by St. Cloud State (56.5), Minnesota Duluth (42) and Wayne State and Bemidji State in ninth with 26 points each.
For the WSC men's team, sophomore Alex Timperley was third in the triple jump at 46' 4 ¼” followed by sophomore Cody Diehl finishing fifth in the pole vault (15' 6 ¼”) and Aaron Garza was fifth in the 600 meter run (1:23.69) for the Wildcats' highest finishers. Other medal winners included York Thomas placing seventh in the 5000 meter run (15:27.78) and Brad Wright eighth in the weight throw (53' ¾”).
The distance medley relay team of Matt Seiler, Andy Jansen, Lee Anderson and Cheto Cerda placed fifth in a time of 10:43.83 and the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Michael King, Drew Molacek, Aaron Garza and Andy Jansen placed fifth with a time of 3:25.41.
