Former Wildcat linebacker Ryan Reeves signs free agent NFL deal with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

            Former Wayne State College linebacker Ryan Reeves was one of 13 players to sign a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent following this weekend's National Football League draft.  Details and terms of the contract or when Reeves would report to the Buccaneers have not been released.

            Reeves, a 6-3, 245 pound middle linebacker from Wahoo, Nebraska (Wahoo Neumann HS), was a Second Team Daktronics All-American selection last fall after leading Wayne State and the Northern Sun Conference in tackles for the second straight season.  Reeves recorded 124 tackles with four interceptions and seven pass breakups in 2009.  He had 10 or more tackles in 10 of the 11 games played for the Wildcats and ranked tied for eighth in NCAA Division II averaging 11.27 tackles per game.  He was a two-time selection to the Daktronics Super Region #3 First Team and was a two-time All-NSIC South Division selection at linebacker. 

            Wayne State College finished the 2009 season with an 8-3 overall record, going 7-3 in the NSIC to finish in a tie for third place.  Wayne State College is an NCAA Division II school located in Wayne, Nebraska and competes in the 14-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
