The Wayne State College men’s track and field team has been selected to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team announced Tuesday. Jacob Mathieson of Wayne State College was selected to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Second Team released Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Wayne State College men’s outdoor track and field scored 49 points to place ninth at the Northern Sun Conference Track and Field Championships held in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Wildcats had four All-Conference finishers with one new school record and one national provisional qualifying mark during the two-day meet. The Wayne State College men’s outdoor track and field is in 10th place with 11 points after the opening day of the Northern Sun Conference Track and Field Championships held in rainy, cold conditions Friday in Moorhead, Minnesota. Cody Diehl of Wayne State College broke his own school record by scoring 6,057 points for a fourth place finish in the Northern Sun Conference Decathlon held Sunday and Monday in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
