The Wayne State College indoor track and field teams competed at a pair of meets this weekend, sending a partial team to the Holiday Inn Invitational at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln on Friday while the rest of the team participated in the Bill Hillenbrand Invitational at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion on Saturday.
The top finisher for the Wildcat men’s squad was senior Tim Pilakowski, who placed second in the long jump, fourth in the 60 meter dash and sixth in the 200 meter dash.
In Friday’s competition at the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lincoln, Nate Preston took fourth in the 3,000-meter run (8:49.26); Ben Jansen placed fifth in the 800 meter run (1:56.53); Cheto Cerda was sixth in the 1,000-meter run (2:34.81) and Brett Suckstorf finished sixth in the 35-pound weight throw (57’ 3 1/2'’).
