USD Bill Hillenbrand Invitational Final Results

Frank Sevigne Husker Invite Results

Junior Christina King had the top finish for the Wayne State College women's track and field team over the weekend as she competed in two meets in two days.  King placed 12th in a strong field of 400 meter runners on Friday at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite in Lincoln with a time of 58.14 seconds and followed that effort on Saturday with a second place finish in the 600 meter run at the USD Bill Hillenbrand Invitational at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion with a time of 1:40.77.  Her performance in Friday's 400 meter dash was a new school record, breaking her previous mark of 58.95 seconds set last season (Feb. 22, 2008).

Other top finishers for the Wildcat women's squad at the Hillenbrand Invite included Misty Rystrom, a junior from Pierce, taking third in the high jump with a season-best mark of 5' 5 3/4".  Her mark was an NCAA provisional national qualifying mark. Paige Pollard was fourth in the 800 meter run at 2:22.15 and sophomore Casey Buskirk was fourth in the weight throw with a top mark of 50' 4 3/4".

Wayne State will be in action again next Saturday hosting the Wildcat Open at the WSC Recreation Center with field events starting at 11:00 a.m.
