#17 Wayne State 11 West Liberty State (W.Va.) 0
Sophomore pitcher Katie Goetzinger threw a perfect game while Jennifer Radley and Hannah Engelkamp each homered to power the #17 Wayne State softball team to an 11-0 win over West Liberty State Wednesday afternoon at the National Training Center Spring Games played in Clermont, Florida. The Wildcats are now 10-2 with the win, dropping West Liberty to 7-5.
Goetzinger (8-1) struck out seven batters en route to the perfect game for her fourth shutout of the season. Offensively, Brittany Greenwood was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, two singles and three runs scored to lead the Wildcats. Jennifer Radley had two hits, including a three-run homer to highlight a three-run third inning. Alyssa Kirsch was 2 for 3 with two RBI's while Hannah Engelkamp's two-run homer was the big hit in a six-run fifth inning. WSC ended the game with 11 hits.
Wayne State will continue play on Thursday at the NTC Spring Games, facing Missouri Western and the University of Tampa.
