Wayne State 4 Truman State 0
Katie Goetzinger's arm and Jennifer Radley's bat were the difference for Wayne State College in a 4-0 win over Truman State of Missouri Sunday afternoon at the Missouri Western Softball Tournament in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Wildcats improved to 14-9 with the win while dropping Truman State to 8-15 with the loss.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Sam Earleywine singled and then scored on Jennifer Radley's two-run homer, her third home run in as many games this weekend, to put the 'Cats in front 2-0. WSC added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning when Katie Goetzinger belted a two-run double that scored Brittany Greenwood and pinch runner Gabby Ayala to give WSC a 4-0 cushion. That would be all the run support needed for Goetzinger, who pitched a complete game three hit shutout with four strikeouts for her fifth shutout of the season.
