Final results from NCAA DII Central/West Regional
Adam Fields of Wayne State College shot a 78 in the final round Wednesday at the NCAA Division II Men's Central/West Regional Golf Tournament played in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club. Fields, a sophomore from Sioux City Heelan who was one of four individual qualifiers in the tournament, finished with a three-day total of 229 (+16) and finished in a tie for 49th out of 90 players in the field.
The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs won the team title by three shots over Cal State-Stanislaus and Sonoma State, 863-866. CSU-San Bernardino (875) and Grand Canyon University (888) finished fourth and fifth as the top five teams move on to the NCAA Division II National Championships to be held May 19-22 in Blaine, Washington. The individual medalist was Jarin Todd of Sonoma State, who shot rounds of 66, 67 and 75 for a three-day total of 208, five-under par. Tyler Bishop of UC-Colorado Springs and Danny Hoff of CSU-Stanislaus tied for second at two-under par 211.
