The Wayne State College softball team is ranked 14th in the final NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) Division II Top 25 poll released Thursday afternoon. It's the highest-ever ranking for a Wildcat softball team. WSC ended the regular season ranked 17th and won the NCAA Central Regional Tournament, advancing to the Super Regionals before falling to Metro State. Wayne State finished the 2010 season with a 43-14 record, breaking last year's record (41) for wins in a season. The Wildcats lose just one senior, center fielder Amy Sandstrom, to graduation.
