Wayne State College Cheerleading Tryouts for the 2012-13 school year will be held on Saturday, April 14th at Wayne State College from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and April 15th starting at 10:00 a.m. at Rice Auditorium.
The 2012-13 tryout information is now available! WSC cheerleading is looking for MEN and WOMAN!! All prospective cheerleaders must be accepted to Wayne State College PRIOR to tryouts. You must be a full time student at WSC to be a Cheerleader. Open tryouts are ONLY open to graduating seniors in high school and college-aged students.
Tryouts will consist of learning; a dance, 2 cheers, base and optional fly in an all girls stunt group. Required cheerleading experience; tumbling and stunting experience are a plus! Remember to bring proof of medical insurance including the policy number. Those under the age of 20 will need a parent’s signature on the waiver form. You will not be permitted to tryout without both a signed waiver form AND a copy of insurance cards.
Tryouts will be held at RICE on WSC campus. Ladies attire should consist of snug-fitting tops and shorts. Gentlemen should wear athletic style shorts and appropriate tee shirts. You may be asked to remove or change baggy tee shirts or sloppy athletic shorts for safety reasons. Please take in to consideration the material presented on the shirts as well. Obscenities, derogatory comments, and other colleges apparel are not appropriate.
Any student wanting to tryout MUST BE PRESENT AT TRYOUTS. Video tapes will not be accepted. The only exception to this rule will be a conflict with prom on Saturday night only. Those cheerleaders must get prior approval to send in a video for their preliminary score. The videotape deadline will be April 1st, 2012. There are hotels in Wayne to stay at if anyone needs to; K-D Inn motel, Super 8, and Sports club motel. Students are welcome to stay with a former cheerleader if arranged ahead of time.
The 2012-2013 WSC cheerleading squad will cheer at all football and basketball games including some rudgy, wrestling, and volleyball games/meets. Other activities upon request.
