WAYNE STATE PLACES 19 ON NSIC WINTER ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Wayne, Neb.--- Wayne State College placed 19 student-athletes on the 2008 Northern Sun Conference Winter All-Academic Team announced today by the league office in St. Paul, Minnesota.
To be eligible for the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or better. The student-athlete must also have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at the institution represented with one full year completed at that particular institution.
The WSC men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams had the most selections with seven each followed by men’s basketball with three and women’s basketball two honorees.
MSU Moorhead led all NSIC schools with 28 selections followed by Concordia-St. Paul and Northern State with 23 apiece. Wayne State was tied for fourth most with the University of Mary with 19 honorees. Winona State was fifth with 16 honorees, Bemidji State had 11, Southwest Minnesota State and Upper Iowa had 10 each with Minnesota, Crookston at six academic selections.

Wayne, Neb.--- Wayne State College placed 23 student-athletes on the 2007 Northern Sun Conference Fall All-Academic Team announced today by the league office in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The WSC volleyball team had the most selections for the Wildcats with eight followed by football and women’s cross country with five each. Women’s soccer had three honorees with men’s golf and men’s cross country receiving one selection apiece.
Winona State led all NSIC schools with 42 selections followed by the University of Mary with 33, Concordia-St. Paul 29, MSU Moorhead fourth with 28 and Southwest Minnesota State next at 27. Upper Iowa had 24 honorees with Wayne State right behind at 23, followed by Bemidji State and Northern State with 20 each and Minnesota, Crookston eight.

Wayne State places 27 student-athletes on NSIC Spring All-Academic Team
Wayne State College placed 27 student-athletes on the 2007 Northern Sun Conference Spring All-Academic Team announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
To be eligible for the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or better. The student-athlete must also have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at the institution represented with one full year completed at that particular institution.
The Wayne State baseball team landed 10 players on the All-Academic squad, followed by softball and men’s outdoor track and field with six each and women’s track and field with five selections.
The University of Mary led all NSIC schools with 31 honorees, followed by Wayne State and Bemidji State with 27 each, Winona State (25), MSU Moorhead (23), Concordia-St. Paul (19), Southwest Minnesota State (17), Northern State (16), Upper Iowa (11) and Minnesota, Crookston (5).

WAYNE STATE PLACES 16 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON NSIC WINTER ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Wayne State College placed 16 student-athletes on the 2007 Northern Sun Conference Winter All-Academic Team announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.
To be eligible for the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or better. The student-athlete must also have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at the institution represented with one full year completed at that particular institution.
The Wayne State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams had five selections each, followed by women’s basketball with four and men’s basketball two.

WAYNE STATE PLACES 26 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON NSIC FALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Wayne State College placed 26 student-athletes on the 2006 Northern Sun Conference Fall All-Academic Team announced by the league office.
To be eligible for the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or better. The student-athlete must also have reached sophomore academic and athletic standing at the institution represented with one full year completed at that particular institution.
The Wayne State football team had the most selections with eight, followed by seven for women’s soccer and volleyball while men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s golf each had one selection to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.
Winona State led all NSIC schools with 43 honorees, followed by Concordia-St. Paul (31), MSU Moorhead and Southwest Minnesota State each had 28, Wayne State (26), University of Mary (23), Bemidji State (18), Northern State and Upper Iowa with 17 apiece and Minnesota-Crookston finished with eight selections.
