NSIC preseason poll finds WSC men's cross country team tied for sixth

Wayne State College was voted by league coaches to finish tied for sixth in the 2010 Northern Sun Conference men’s cross country preseason coaches poll released by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota. The Wildcats and Northern State each received 39 points in voting done by the league’s 10 head coaches that have men’s cross country. Wildcat senior York Thomas was tabbed as Wayne State’s runner to watch in the NSIC this season.

Junior York Thomas was the top finisher for the Wildcats, placing 42nd out of 128 runners

WSC men finish 15th at NCAA DII Central Regional Cross Country Meet

The Wayne State College men’s cross country team placed 15th out of 18 teams at the 2009 NCAA Division II Central Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by Wayne State College and run at the Wayne Country Club Saturday. The Wildcats finished with a team score of 458. Adams State of Colorado won the team title with 20 points and was one of five teams from the Central Region to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Evansville, Indiana on November 21.

Wayne State to host NCAA DII Central Region Cross Country Championships this weekend

Wayne State College will host some of the nation’s premier cross country runners this weekend at the 2009 NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships on Saturday, November 7^th at the Wayne Country Club. The women’s race (6,000 meters) will start at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with the men’s race (10,000 meters) scheduled to start at 11:15 a.m. A total of 24 schools from two different conferences (Northern Sun Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) will compete at the meet.
