WSC Men's Track Team Receives All-Academic Honor

The Wayne State College men’s track and field team has been selected to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team announced Tuesday. The Wildcats were just one of 34 NCAA Division II institutions to receive the honor and join Augustana College and Bemidji State as the only other NSIC schools to be selected.

Former Wayne State College cross country/track and field standout Matt Schneider repeated as champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechase last weekend (July 9-10) at the USATF Club National Championships in San Francisco, California.

WSC track and field Speed Clinic and Camps cancelled

The Wayne State College track and field Speed Clinic scheduled for Saturday, June 26th and the Speed Camps scheduled for the remainder of June, July and August have been cancelled and will not be made up.

Wayne State's Jacob Mathieson receives ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team honors

Jacob Mathieson of Wayne State College was selected to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Second Team released Thursday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Mathieson, a senior from Neligh-Oakdale High School in Nebraska, carries a 3.94 grade point average majoring in geography.
