8.30.2010 | Women's Cross Country
The Wayne State College women’s cross country team has been picked for an eighth place finish in the 2010 Northern Sun Conference preseason coaches poll.  The Wildcats received a total of 41 points in voting conducted by the league’s 11 coaches in women’s cross country.  Wayne State sophomore Ky’Lee Engelken was selected as the Wildcat runner to watch in the NSIC this season.

The Wayne State College women’s cross country team has received the All-Academic Team Award from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday.  For a team to be considered for the award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade point average.

Wayne State College senior cross country runners Sarah Thomsen and Megan Zavorka are repeat selections to the 2009 NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team announced today (Friday) by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  To qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have placed in the top 30% of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships.

11.7.2009 | Women's Cross Country
The Wayne State College women’s cross country team placed ninth out of 22 teams at the 2009 NCAA Division II Central Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by Wayne State College and run at the Wayne Country Club Saturday.  The Wildcats finished with a team score of 265 to record the best-ever finish by a WSC women’s cross country team at regionals.  Six-time defending national champion Adams State of Colorado won the team title with 36 points and was one of six teams from the Central Region to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Evansville, Indiana on November 21.
