Final Men's Results - Woody Greeno Invitational
Senior Nate Preston placed 32nd out of 324 runners to lead the Wayne State College men's cross country team to a 10th place finish out of 21 teams Saturday at the Woody Greeno Invitational held in Lincoln. The Wildcats had a team score of 240. Butler Community College of Kansas was the team champion with 63 points followed by Colorado School of Mines (71), Concordia University (131), Iowa Central CC (151) and Central Missouri (188) in the top five.
Preston finished the 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:36 to lead 12 Wildcat runners. Senior Cheto Cerda was next for WSC in 49th place at 27:04. Sophomore York Thomas finished 73rd in a time of 27:30 with John Kern and Matt Schneider taking 88th and 89th respectively with times of 27:42 and 27:43. Other WSC finishers included: Joe Chebul, 135th-28:26; Matt Seiler, 185th-29:15; Jason Schaaf, 191st-29:21; Ryan Callahan, 218th-29:53; Michael Schinstock, 222nd-29:59; Nathaniel Bergen, 283rd-31:46 and Jimmie Doherty, 292nd-32:31.
Wayne State will be in action again next Saturday, September 27th, at the Dakota State Invitational in Madison, South Dakota.
