After starting the season ranked 10th in the USTFCCCA (United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) NCAA Division II Preseason Central Regional Rankings, the Wayne State men's cross country team has re-entered the rankings this week at ninth in the third regular season rankings released today by the coaches association.
Adams State of Colorado is ranked first in the Central Region followed by Western State of Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth in the top five. Metro State of Colorado is sixth with Augustana (SD) seventh, Univ. of Colorado-Colorado Springs eighth, Wayne State ninth and Nebraska-Kearney 10th.
The top six finishing teams in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships at Kearney, Nebraska on November 8th will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania on November 22nd.
Wayne State will compete this Saturday (September 27th) at the Dakota State University Invitational in Madison, South Dakota.
