WSC opens home schedule with sweep over Chadron State

The Wayne State College volleyball team opened their home schedule Monday afternoon at Rice Auditorium in Wayne with a sweep over Chadron State as the Wildcats cruised to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-17 win over the Eagles. WSC has now won six straight contests, improving to 7-2 overall, while Chadron State dropped to 0-6 on the season.
Junior middle hitter Jennifer Hefner paced the Wildcats in hitting with 13 kills as all 13 players saw action for WSC. As a team, the ‘Cats hit a stellar .370 with 44 kills and just 10 hitting errors. Tali Fredrickson and Leigh Connot each recorded 10 digs while Diedra Artz was credited with 29 set assists.
For Chadron State, Lauren Yoder had 13 kills, Mollie Jones and Sarah Mortensen notched seven digs each and Stephanie Levi handed out 21 set assists.
Wayne State will be play at the Rockhurst Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday and Saturday.
