            Wayne State College, ranked 7^th in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, opened Northern Sun Conference play Friday night with a 3-0 sweep over Winona State at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.  Scores of the match were 25-12, 25-14 and 28-26.  Wayne State is now 9-0 on the season and 1-0 in league play while Winona State drops to 5-5 overall and 0-2 in the NSIC.

            Freshman Cori Hobbs paced Wayne State in hitting with 13 kills followed by Jennifer Hefner with nine.  The Wildcats had just three hitting errors in the match and hit .355 while forcing Winona State into 22 hitting errors and a .155 hitting percentage.  Senior setter Diedra Artz had 37 set assists while Leigh Connot and McKenna Reagan each notched 11 digs for the Wildcats in the win.

            Wayne State will be in action again Saturday afternoon hosting Upper Iowa in a Northern Sun Conference match starting at 4:00 p.m. at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.
