Final Women's Results from Concordia Open
Sophomore Ky'Lee Engelken and senior Meghan Schneider each posted top 10 finishes to lead the Wayne State College women's cross country team to a third place finish Saturday morning at the Concordia Open in Seward, Nebraska. Host Concordia won the team title with 30 points, edging second place Morningside's 35 with the Wildcats coming in third place with 82 points.
Other teams competing included Hastings College in fourth with 110 points, Concordia Alumni fifth at 142 and York College sixth with 163 points. Midland Lutheran did not field enough runners for a team score.
Individually for Wayne State, Engelken (Pawnee City) was sixth overall out of 66 runners in a time of 20:05 on the 5,000 meter course. Schneider, a senior from Fremont, was right behind in 10th place at 20:21. Other WSC finishers included Pierce freshman Skyler Lippman 25th overall at 21:35, Holli Erickson, a freshman from Murrieta, California, placing 30th at 21:55, Ainsworth senior Melissa McIntosh was 35th in 22:15, Doniphan freshman Tausha Lee took 40th overall at 22:35 and Tatiana DeLosSantos, a junior from Papillion-LaVista, was 41st with a time of 22:40.
Wayne State is next scheduled to compete in the Woody Greeno Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska in Lincoln on Saturday, September 18th.
