Prairie Wolf Outdoor Invite Final Results
The Wayne State College track and field teams competed Friday at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska. In the men's division, Nebraska Wesleyan edged Concordia-Seward for the team title 209-195. Nebraska-Kearney was third with 145 points followed by Wayne State (47), Buena Vista (8) and Dickinson State (2).
The lone first place finish for the Wayne State men was by junior thrower Ross Bunchek, who surpassed the 200 foot mark in the hammer throw with a new school record and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 202' 2”.
Other top finishers for the Wildcat men included Greg Tracy taking second in the 10,000 meter run at 34:39.60, Aaron Garza was third in the 800 meter run at 1:56.80, Brad Wright took third in the discus (156' 0”), Michael King was fourth in the 100 meter dash (11.22) and Jeff Mills took fourth in the pole vault at 14' 5 ¼”.
Wayne State will compete at a pair of meets next weekend, the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Northern State Invitational on Saturday in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
