Biography

2010: Earned ESPN Academic First Team All-American and AVCA Second Team All-American honors for the second straight season for Wildcats after averaging 3.38 kills and 1.13 blocks per set as a senior...received First Team All-NSIC honors for third straight season after leading Wildcats in kills (362) and blocks (121)...was named to the Rockhurst Volleyball Classic and 2010 Premier All-Tournament Teams, leading to NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors on 9-13-10 and Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week honors on 9-14-10...ranked third in the NSIC in blocks per set (1.13), fourth in points per set (4.22), seventh in kills per set (3.38) and eighth in hitting percentage (.331)...had double-double with 13 kills and 12 blocks vs. Southwest Minnesota State on 9-11-10 in title match of 2010 Premier Tournament in Denver...had 10 or more kills in 23 of 30 matches during season, led by season-high 18 kills at Southwest Minnesota State on 10-9-10...finished career with 1,540 career kills, ranking fourth on all-time Wildcat kills list...named to Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska Team and one of nine Wildcat selected to NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.  

2009: Became first player in school history to receive Academic All-American honors to go with AVCA Second Team All-American honors after stellar junior season...led Wildcats in kills (483), blocks (158) and hitting percentage (.326)...averaged 3.72 kills and 1.22 blocks per set...named First Team All-NSIC for the second straight season and was selected Daktronics Second Team All-Central Region and AVCA First Team All-Central Region...selected to the NCAA DII Central Regional All-Tournament Team after recording 17 kills with six blocks in 3-2 win over Minnesota State on 11-19-09...became 13th member of 1,000 kill club in WSC volleyball history...named Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week on 9-15-09 after being named to third straight All-Tournament Team to start the season...led the NSIC in blocks, ranked second in points per set (4.66), ranked third in kills per set and seventh in hitting percentage...ranked 12th in NCAA Division II in blocks per set...had season-high 21 kills in 3-2 win at Bemidji State on 10-3-09...had 16 kills and 10 blocks in 3-1 win over Missouri S&T on 9-4-09...named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team on 11-23-09, becoming the first-ever WSC volleyball player to be named Academic All-American..selected to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team...was named Cunningham Scholar Athlete and WSC Female Athlete of the Year for the 2009-10 school year at season-ending Athletic Banquet.

2008: Named First Team All-NSIC, Second Team Daktronics All-Central Region and honorable mention AVCA Central Region after leading Wayne State in kills, blocks, hitting percentage and points per game while appearing in all 33 matches...had 386 kills and 109 blocks, averaging 3.16 kills, 0.89 blocks and 3.83 points per set while hitting team-high .332...ranked fourth in the NSIC in points per set (3.83), seventh in hitting percentage (.332) and eighth in kills (3.16)...named Most Valuable Player of the Southwest Baptist Bearcat Challenge, helping WSC to a 4-0 record...was named Nebraska NCAA Division II Volleyball Player of the Week three times (9-9-08, 10-14-08 and 10-28-08)...had career-high 26 kills with no errors and a .619 hitting percentage in 3-2 win at Minnesota State on 10-24-08...had 25 kills with just two errors in 3-2 win over Augustana on 9-27-08...one of six WSC players named to NSIC Fall All-Academic Team...named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII Second Team with 3.92 GPA majoring in biology.

2007: Had stellar freshman season for the Wildcats, recording 309 kills (2.34 kpg) and 153 blocks (1.16 bpg) as a reserve middle hitter/blocker...one of only three players to appear in all 36 matches for WSC in 2007 season...had a solid .257 hitting percentage to rank 10th in the NSIC and ranked 7th in blocks per game at 1.16...had 12 matches of 10 or more kills, including 15 kills at Minnesota, Crookston on 10-5-07 and 15 kills vs. MSU Moorhead in the NSIC Tournament title game on 11-10-07...had season-high 10 digs at Bemidji State on 10-6-07...had season-high 11 blocks vs. Rockhurst on 8-31-07.

High School:  Graduate of Central City High School...earned All-State and All-Conference honors three seasons while leading Central City to Class C-1 High School State Tournament as a junior...averaged 4.53 kills and 1.13 blocks per game as a senior...Also excelled in basketball and track and field, earning All-Conference honors in basketball as a junior and qualifying for the state track meet in the 110 high hurdles and 4 x 400 meter relay as a junior...Hefner had team-high nine kills for Red All-Stars in Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Volleyball Game on July 31, 2007.

Personal: Daughter of Ron and Tracey Hefner...Born on December 7, 1988...majoring in Applied Human and Sport Physiology.
